Epoxy Floor Coating NJ Cheese Processor

Our customer in Patterson, NJ, needed to remedy his processing area to meet a food audit. They were tight on budget, so we developed a specification that would not only meet their needs but also create a long-term solution.

We at Epoxy Floors NJ achieved this by applying an epoxy floor coating NJ style. We start by removing any peeling or damaged flooring, then profiled their substrate to meet the manufacturer’s specifications to ensure a long-term solution. This reduced the epoxy floor coating cost and met their goal of getting a good food safety audit score.

Epoxy Floor Coating Preparation and Base Coat

As previously mentioned, we abrade the existing epoxy floor after completion of remediation to be certain we have a solid base for bonding.

Once we completed the preparation, we followed that up with a base coat of high-solids epoxy floor coating purchased from our New Jersey vendor. Once applied at a nominal 15 mil thickness, we then broadcast to excess to create a higher-wearing commercial kitchen floor system.

Once cured, we removed the excess aggregate and walked the area, being careful to remove any “rough” areas. The aggregate is what creates the hardness in resinous flooring. It also creates a non-slip texture that can be customized by altering the aggregate size, allowing us to be certain we optimize the customer’s operational needs.

Driving The Epoxy Floor Coatings Cost Down

Our customer needed this epoxy floor system, but was on a tight budget. We achieved this through our epoxy floor coating NJ system. Additionally, we limited the new flooring to areas that were damaged to minimize the overall cost.

Once we cleared the broadcast floor, we then used our HEPA vacuum to remove any loose or excess aggregate that was left behind, leaving an even texture and overall evenness.

We then grouted the floor using the same high-solids, chemical-resistant epoxy floor coating to seal the surface. This system was ideal for hardness and minimizing any staining from harsh cleansers.

Reducing Epoxy Floor Coatings Cost Through Longevity

We enhance chemical exposure and scratch resistance by applying our final topcoat of an aliphatic urethane coating. This protects our food service floor system from UV degradation. This coating tends to be priced, but doesn’t affect the overall cost too much, as it goes down to approximately 4 mils; it retains sheen as well as the previously mentioned scratch resistance.

Bottom line, as an independent epoxy floor installation company, we are not bound by a particular product. That independence allows us to address the customers’ needs first and foremost, making Epoxy Floors NJ a real value for our clients.

This system typically installs for approximately $5.00 per square foot, depending upon the remediation the existing floor may require.
