Expert Epoxy Floor Installers
Epoxy Floor Installers Typical Installation
As with all construction projects, it all starts with preparation. How do you prepare the floor before applying epoxy? We start by cleaning the floor of any debris, etc., grind or shotblast, depending upon the manufacturer’s suggestion. How are cracks and voids handled during preparation? Then we complete the prep process by routing and filling all cracks and voids, leaving a clean palette for a beautiful, even finished epoxy flooring system.
We then squeegee apply our epoxy prime coat to create a solid glue line. The squeegee procedure ensures the right thickness to allow for penetration into the slab. We then apply our base coat, whether coating, slurry or a mortar, depending upon its fitness of purpose.
Finally, we apply our aliphatic urethane to enhance scratch resistance and color retention. After 40-plus years, while always looking for a better process, we feel strongly about our epoxy floor installer procedures and are looking forward to showing you our best.
Why Hire Expert Epoxy Installers?
FAQ
Preparation is the most critical step. Installers start by cleaning the floor of debris and then perform mechanical diamond grinding or shot blasting, depending on the manufacturer’s requirements. This ensures the epoxy can penetrate the slab and create a permanent bond.
Professional installers do not simply paint over damage. The process includes routing and filling all cracks and voids during the preparation phase to create a clean, level palette for the final epoxy system.
The prime coat is applied using a squeegee to ensure the correct thickness and maximum penetration into the concrete slab. This creates a solid “glue line” that prevents the floor from peeling or delaminating later.
Hiring an expert saves money in the long run because a properly installed resin floor will last for many years. Professionals also handle the “learning curve” and potential mistakes that often lead to failure in DIY projects.
The final layer of aliphatic urethane is applied to enhance the floor’s performance. It provides superior scratch resistance and ensures long-term color retention, protecting the aesthetic of the floor against wear and UV exposure.
